Ardèche gastronomy is as delicious as it is authentic because it showcases local produce of the highest standard. We are right in the heart of the production area: AOPs like the Fin Gras beef of Mézenc, Châtaigne d’Ardèche chestnuts, Picodon goat’s cheese and wines, red label poultry, many organic products, Ardèche IGP (protected geographical indication) ham and sausages, potatoes, dairy products and mountain fruits, etc. The gastronomy primarily draws its inspiration from this terroir. It is simple yet delicious cuisine which brings the very best out of the produce.
So that you can discover local flavours, restaurants selected by Goûtez l’Ardèche offer menus or dishes made with at least 80% of local produce. The approach also guarantees a minimum opening period of seven months in the year and the professionalism of the chef. These establishments are subject to stringent selection, favouring the use of local produce, respect for seasonality, the expertise of the chef and the flavour of the dishes. A rigorous selection procedure, selective specifications, « undercover » visits and external audits ensure quality commitments are met.
All approved chefs are true ambassadors for their region who transform local products to show us the very best of the Ardèche.
To help you decide, Goûtez l’Ardèche offers three types of cuisine.
Bistro cuisine: simple, wholesome food in authentic and friendly establishments where the chef favours traditional recipes which call on local, fresh and seasonal produce.
Traditional cuisine: flavoursome cuisine using local, fresh and seasonal produce in pleasant surroundings.
Gourmet cuisine: sophisticated and creative cuisine based on local, fresh and seasonal produce served in exceptional establishments with a unique atmosphere.
